Student Affairs

The Student Affairs Section was established in the 1987/1988 academic session. The Dean, Dk Dr Nurolaini binti Pg Hj Muhd Kifli is at the helm assisted by the Deputy Dean, Dr Hj Ramlee bin Hj Tinkong and Assistant Registrar, Zalinawati binti Hj Mohaimin.

 

SAS Mission

To provide an excellent and effective administrative machinery for student services and development.
This section will strive to make the University as a Centre of Excellence both in intellectual and personality development.


Main Objectives

  • To provide a comprehensive programme for students’ development and skills
  • To develop leadership qualities at national and international level
  • To provide special programmes in Islamic Religious practice and knowledge for moral and spiritual development of students. 
  • To collaborate and consult students in tackling current or contemporary issues
  • To assist students in their future career or professionals
  • To encourage students to become active in Community services
  • To provide students with the environment and opportunities to be involved in extracurricular activities (ECA)

The Student Affairs Section (SAS) has overall responsibility for student welfare and student life on campus.

 

Student Service Unit

Responsibilities:

  • Supervising various aspects of the welfare of students including advising the financial matters of the Student’s Association
  • Payment of student’s allowances and other privileges
  • Looking into the needs of in-service government officer

Counseling Unit

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct counseling session on academic, social and personal matters with students either individually or in-group
  • Organising leadership and life skill courses relevant to the needs of the students

Career Advice / Training Unit

Responsibilities:

  • Advice students to plan their future careers or further studies
  • Organizing career talks relevant to the needs of the students and the stakeholders

International Student Service Unit

Responsibilities:

  • To monitor every aspect of the International students welfare
  • To assist and act as mediators or liason officers between the international students and UBD, or Government ministries/department/embassies or others

Religious and Spiritual Unit

Responsibilities:

  • Organizing religious activities and community services
  • Assisting in providing religious and spiritual guidance and advice to students

Extracurricular Activities Unit

Responsibilities:

  • Organizing students’ ECA such as cultural, sports and community service
  • Assisting on students activities such as participation of tournaments or competition organized by various institutions or agencies within or outside the country

Residential College Unit

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for allocation of accommodation for students
  • Responsible for the students’ welfare, discipline, health and safety
  • Assisting students in the planning and implementing of the residential college activities

UBD Student’s Association (PMUBD)

Objectives:

  • To promote & safeguard the interests of its members within the University;
  • To promote and project the image of the University;
  • To promote the welfare of its members within the University
