08DISCOVER FEATUREstudents Display Innovative & Entrepreneurial Projectsat Pesta KonvoIn conjunction with the 27th Convocation, UBD proudly showcased its student research and projects that could have an impact on social and economic developments in Brunei Darussalam at the Convocation Festival, or Pesta Konvo, held on 5th September.The annual event was launched at the Pengiran Anak Puteri Rashidah Sa’adatul Bolkiah (PAPRSB) Institute of Health Sciences by His Royal Highness Prince (Dr.) Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince of Brunei Darussalam and the Pro-Chancellor of UBD.Themed “Inspired Youth”, the Convocation Festival showcases milestones achieved by the students in UBD. The theme shows the key role of youth in contributing to the nation’s development and the growth of a knowledge economy through the harnessing of innovative-thinking, entrepreneurial mindset and the improving of industry-relevant skills.Among the highlights of the exhibition were a “Health Coach”, or Heal-C mobile phone app developed by PAPRSB An EV student from commercial diving company, Al-Hadid, demonstrating diving equipment to the Crown Prince, His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, Pro - Chancellor of UBD. Developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, the app was designed to help users make positive changes in their lifestyle choices to lead healthier and more active lives.
