The programme is for those who wish to pursue their study in multi-disciplinary areas (as foundation or major core) which merges across four different disciplines; 1) Business & Management; 2) Entrepreneurship; 3) Digital Technology; and 4) Financial Literacy. Specialisation areas (as major option) will provide a more focused options for students to choose from (i.e. either the Multi-disciplinary areas; Business & Management; Entrepreneurship; Digital Technology and Financial literacy; or Creative Industries; Tourism, Hospitality and Environment; and Halal Industries). Some major option modules will be integrated modules (i.e. Islamic perspectives will be integrated in business and management, entrepreneurship, banking and finance).
The BSc in Digital Economy programme will be conducted as a full time programme of 4 years duration with 2 semesters in a year, or as a part-time programme of up to 10 years (maximum) duration with 1 or 2 semesters in a year. The BSc. Digital Economy programme will adopt a blended learning approach based on a negotiated learning programme structure. This would follow GenNEXT degree programme rules and regulation with Discovery year. During the Discovery year, students will have to choose one of the four options in Discovery Year programmes available overseas or in Brunei to enhance and broaden their horizon. Students are expected to take a total of 29 modules and 2 work-based projects before applying to graduate.

These are modules that are compulsory for all students registered in a particular major. Students must pass these modules in order to fulfil their graduation requirement. Different majors have their own sets of requirements and modules listed as major core.
These are non-compulsory major modules that contribute to the requirement to complete a major and count towards the depth requirements for graduation. Different majors have their own sets of requirements and modules listed as major option.
Compulsory Breadth are university-wide modules offered by other faculties, which students must pass in order to satisfy their graduation requirement.

Blended learning involves imaginative integration of face-to-face with online learning experiences. At UBD blended learning design will be focused on enabling a 'step change' in flexibility with campus, the workplace and online being one. At UBD we will explore new and innovative ways to combine face-to-face and online experiences seamlessly and coherently, in a manner that responds to the workplace in enabling 'Tomorrow's Professionals'. There will be increased use of online learning, rich online educational resources relevant to student learning, blended with more traditional face-to-face delivery.

Students will be awarded a Bachelor of Science in Digital Economy when they accumulate a minimum of 140 Modular Credits from a combination of foundation modules (as major core), compulsory breadths, specialisation modules (as major options) and discovery year as specified in the Programme structure.
Students will be awarded a Diploma in Digital Economy by Universiti Brunei Darussalam. The award of the diploma is based on the students’ completion of the minimal total of 84 MCs from the major core (68 MCs) and compulsory breadth modules (16 MCs) required for the Diploma in Digital Economy programme.

5. How flexible is the programme? The BSc. in Digital Economy programme will adopt a blended learning approach (both offline and online) based on a negotiated learning programme structure. This new blended learning programme is a flexible, innovative, negotiated learning programme structure that takes on board the professional education needs of a broad spectrum of learners by providing the opportunity to select modules that best align with their educational needs and career objectives. The blended learning programme offers flexibility to negotiate your own learning but also gives you the opportunity to study at your own pace and in your own time.

The BSc in Digital Economy programme runs for four (4) years and is divided into 8 semesters with 2 semesters per year, for a full time candidature. As for a part time candidature, students under this programme may opt to take 8 semesters, with 2 semesters per year, on and off, till up to a maximum of ten (10) years. A minimal total of 140 modular credits (MC) are required for the Bachelor of Science (BSc.) in Digital Economy programme. A total minimum of 84 MCs from the major core (68 MCs) and compulsory breadth modules (16 MCs) and the minimum requirement of 24 MCs for major option including 32 MCs of discovery year must be completed.
