The programme enables students to gain applied specialist knowledge and research skills through original research at a doctoral level worthy of publication, and to foster a lifelong learning research culture and contribution to new applied interdisciplinary knowledge.     Applications are invited from qualified candidates for admission to the programmes offered. To be considered for admission, applicants must satisfy the general entry requirements and specific entry requirements as set for each programme.

    Applicants must note that fulfilling the general entry requirements and specific entry requirements does not guarantee entry into UBD’s programmes as admission to all programmes is competitive and limited subject to availability of spaces.

    Entry Requirements

    Applicants must satisfy the following entry requirement:

    • The minimum entry requirement for PhD programmes is normally a relevant Master’s degree or a First Class Honours Degree or its equivalent from an institution recognised by the University Senate.

    • The submission of a well-written research proposal relevant to the nominated area of specialisation.

    Applicants may be required to undergo an interview covering the pre-requisite management and delivery knowledge, attitudes, ethics and other critical skills needed for the Programme on a case by case basis.

    Applicants must be able to demonstrate English language proficiency of at least a credit 6 in English Language at GCE ‘O’ Level Examinations or a grade ‘B2’ in UBD English Proficiency Test or an IELTS score of 6.0 or TOEFL minimum overall score of at least 550.
