International Student Advisor

The IS Officer(s) provides information, support and advice to international students at the University.


Entering/ Leaving the Campus During the Restricted Hours (12.00 midnight to 6.00 a.m.)

a)     Student who want to away for social purposes from the Campus should take note that they need to contact the Residential College Manager via email or phone for approval at least 3 days in advance.

b)     Female students who wish to leave the female Residential College compound for any valid reasons (e.g. expecting phone call or doing assignments outside the campus) are requested to inform at the earlier possible to the Residential College Manager, who will then inform the Chief Security Officer or any of the Security Guards on duty to open the gate and escort the student to their destination. This is due to the main gate of the Female Residential College will be closed around 11.00 p.m. and the small gate after 12.00 midnight.

c)     In case of emergency or other urgent cases, call the Residential Colleges’ Security Guards on duty directly. This should be reported immediately to the Residential College Manager.

d)     Students are strongly advised to bring along the UBD Student ID at all times. These procedures apply to all female students who want to leave the Residential College after midnight.


Leaving the State

Students who want to leave Brunei Darussalam either on vacation or doing research project in their home countries are required to fill in the SAS/9 Application for Permission to Leave the State for International Student of UBD form.

The form must be endorsed by their respective Dean of Faculty before forwarding to Dean of Students for approval. The application may take up to 3 days to process.

Students must also ensure that the relevant visa is valid (e.g. re-entry visa: single or multiple).
