Globalisation has created trans-boundary global health issues such as poverty, obesity, diabetes mellitus, cancer, tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS. Policy makers, health professionals, academics and researchers are expected to produce scientific evidence when measuring disease patterns and burden of diseases towards improving health outcomes of the population through research. Therefore, all professionals must be equipped with practical research knowledge and skill s that can be applied in the respective disciplines. The workshop aims to introduce basic biostatistics concepts and demonstrate the practical application in conducting quantitative studies in the field of public health. Participants will acquire knowledge and skills in designing statistical tests for quantitative research in their respective topic of interest. Importantly, it is also a platform for networking among various professionals who are sharing common interests in research.
