Previous Academic Positions

2010–2013 Ambizione Research Fellow (Ambizione SNSF Grant) • University of Lausanne, Switzerland.

2008–2009 Postdoctoral Research Fellow • School of Ocean & Earth Science, University of Southampton, UK – Swiss National Science Foundation – Fellowships for Young Scientist and – NERC Postdoctoral project.

Teaching Area

  • Physical Geology (SG-1302)
  • Geochemistry (SG-4303)
  • Micropaleontology and Biostratigraphy (SG-4305)
  • Isotope geochemistry and geochronology  (SG-4310)
  • Introduction to Paleontology (SG-1204).

Research Interests

Reconstruction of past environmental conditions with geochemical analyses of various biominerals and sediments. The major subjects include climate, oceanography, stratigraphy, ecology, extinction events. I am also very interested in palaeontology, especially in fossil vertebrates and the related questions in taphonomy, those that can be addressed by chemical, isotopic and mineralogical analyses.
