DESCRIPTION:Abstract \nThe first demographic transition refers to the shift from high fertility and mortality rates to low fertility and mortality rates\, usually measured at replacement level of fertility. During this transition\, social engineering may work well. However\, when a society enters the second demographic transition (SDT)\, characterized by fertility fluctuating below replacement level\, people may prioritize more individual accentuation and secularization over traditional family structures. This is the early hypothesis of the SDT\, based on European experiences\, where below replacement level of fertility is accompanied by changes in social norms. However\, mixed results have been found in non-Western countries. This presentation shares our study on Indonesia\, a diverse Muslim-majority country\, where some provinces/regions have experienced below-replacement levels of fertility. Are there any changes in family institutions accompanying low fertility in Indonesia? Our study puts together scattered quantitative and qualitative data related to SDT in Indonesia.

Amongst the activities are scheduled walk-in interviews and walk-in CV checking and advising sessions by UBD career guides. \nThis annual event is organised by the UBD’s Centre of Networking\, Employment\, and Career Training (UBD CoNECT)\, with the support of the Office of Alumni Relations and Advancement (OARA). \nThe event aims to strengthen the collaboration between UBD and its industry partners in increasing the marketability of its students and graduates whilst bridging the gap of industries’ expectations with UBD future ready-graduates. \nThe event anticipates the participation of a variety of industries ranging from educational institutions\, food and beverages\, communications\, health\, and several government agencies\, which will be offering various employment opportunities and walk-in interviews for full-time and part-time vacancies as well as internship placements. \nPre-event activities consisting of Career Talks and Career Workshops featuring industries’ experts will also be held on 9th June 2022 which is open to public too. These activities will allow opportunities for students\, alumni and jobseekers to acquire knowledge on developing the highly-demanded necessities in a majority of today’s careers\, such as CV and cover letter-writing\, as well as interview\, communication and presentation skills among others.
