Part-time Research Assistant

The Environmental and Life Sciences (Faculty of Sciences) seeks to hire a part-time BSc-level Research Assistant for ten (10) months, starting from 1 September 2026 to 31 August 2027.

The Role
We seek candidates with knowledge of tropical plant physiology and plant anatomy; experience conducting cytological studies and physiological experiments; moreover, some field work is also required, and a strong commitment to research is required.

Minimum requirements:

1. Brunei Citizen, or eligible to work in Brunei.
2. Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, Biodiversity, Botany or related areas.
3. Significant experience in plant anatomy study and physiology research.
4. It is required to have good analytical skills in adapting laboratory protocols from temperate species to tropical herbaceous species. Furthermore, it is required to have knowledge of the statistical analysis of biological data.
5. Experience with management of administration within and outside UBD is an advantage.
6. Flexible working schedule and own transport is required.
