Dynamik Technologies launched its latest Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, the “Dynamik Trees” programme, with the first project conducted in collaboration with the Institute for Biodiversity and Environmental Research (IBER), Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD).
Through the “Dynamik Trees” programme, Dynamik Technologies supported the ex-situ conservation of five native tree species at the Universiti Brunei Darussalam Botanical Research Centre (UBD BRC), via the “Adopt A Tree” project. The “Dynamik Trees” programme also supported the planting of 23 saplings of high conservation value native tree species in the UBD BRC on 18th September 2024.
The launch of the programme was held on 26th September 2024 at the UBD Botanical Research Centre (BRC), attended by Haslina Taib, Chief Executive Officer of Dynamik Technologies and Dr Hazri Haji Kifle, Vice-Chancellor of UBD. Other guests include Dr Hussein Haji Taha, Director of IBER along with senior management from both Dynamik Technologies and UBD.
The sponsorship by Dynamik Technologies and the collaboration with UBD BRC plays a vital role in supporting UBD’s biodiversity research and its sustainability efforts through conservation action and raising awareness about the importance of protecting Brunei’s natural environment.
In his welcoming remarks, Dr Hussein Haji Taha shared that the UBD BRC, as Brunei Darussalam’s first botanic garden, is committed to securing industry partnerships in support of the Centre’s ongoing research and conservation efforts. He highlighted that the collaboration with Dynamik Technologies is a milestone in UBD BRC’s research achievements and the trees selected for adoption and planting as part of the “Dynamik Trees” programme will be further studied by the research team at the UBD BRC.
In her opening speech, Haslina Taib stated, “This initiative reflects our deep commitment to sustainability and resonates with our core value of stewardship where we are building a heritage for our future generations. Our intention is to fulfill our responsibility in ensuring sustainability as part of our ESG practices, and that what we do has a meaningful impact to the ecosystem that we belong to.”
Dynamik Technologies’ contribution will help enrich the botanical collections at UBD BRC, advancing its mission of research, education, and conservation of Brunei’s hyperdiverse flora. The launch also featured a commemorative tree-planting ceremony by Haslina Taib Dr Hazri Haji Kifle to mark both the inauguration of the programme and Dynamik Technologies’ 23rd anniversary. The guests also had the opportunity to experience the digital audio guide of the UBD BRC garden created by ebode of Dynamik Technologies on the IZI.travel application.
