The university has grown to be a reputable teaching and research institute producing regionally and globally competitive graduates, hosting regional and international events and projects, and linked partnerships from renowned universities world-wide.

The enrollment of local and international students has seen significant increase over the years. This is attributed to the next improvement in inbound and outbound student schemes in the Discovery Year programme, a flagship programme in the GenNEXT curriculum introduced in 2011. In addition, the 131 active Memorandum of Understanding signed between the university and partner international organisations are also causative toward the internationalisation of the university’s profile.
