Following the hoisting of the giant national flag in Bandar Seri Begawan on 15th February, 2025, Universiti Burunei Darussalam marked the 41st National Day celebration with a flag-raising ceremony of its own in front of the Chancellor Hall, UBD on 18th February 2025.
The event, organised by the Student Affairs Section , was attended by university staff, students, and distinguished guests, all coming together to commemorate the nation’s National Day. The Guest of Honour Dr Hazri Haji Kifle, UBD Vice-Chancellor joined in the celebrations.
The event commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by the entry of the UBD Cadet Corps for the flag-raising ceremony. The national anthem of Brunei Darussalam, “Allah Peliharakan Sultan”, was performed by the UBD Choir Club, filling the atmosphere with pride and unity.
The UBD Choir Club then presented two patriotic songs, adding to the celebratory mood of the event. The ceremony concluded with a group photo session, capturing the moment of solidarity
and national pride. The event ended on a high note with all attendees dispersing, having shared in the national pride of Brunei Darussalam’s 41 years of independence.
