The PMUBD Sports Carnival 2025 Opening Ceremony took place at the UBD Sports Complex Field A, bringing together the UBD community – athletes, students, staff, and invited guests, to officially kick off this year’s interfaculty sporting activities.
The event was organised by the Executive of Sports and Recreation, in collaboration with the Student Activity and Development Unit, Student Affairs Section. The Sports Carnival will run from 16th December 2025 to 19th April 2026.
The ceremony began with the arrival of the guest of honour, Professor Dr Haji Noor Azam Orang Kaya Maha Bijaya (OKMB) Haji Othman, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Brunei Darussalam, followed by the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat.
The PMUBD Sports Carnival 2025 Project In-Charge and Vice Chief Executive of Sports and Recreation, Awangku Mohd Hazmi Iman Pengiran Khairul Hisham, then delivered his welcoming remarks.
The guest of honour officiated the launch of the Sports Carnival, marking the start of the interfaculty competition. This was followed by a parade representing the four sports houses:
- Qing Dynasty (FASS)
- Greek Empire (FOS × SDS)
- Abbasid Dynasty (IHS × APB)
- Persian Empire (FIT × SBE)
The ceremony continued with the recitation of the Ikrar Sukan (Sports Oath), affirming the athletes’ commitment to sportsmanship and teamwork, followed by energetic field performances from each house.
A series of competitive events such as Tug of War and Track and Field further enlivened the atmosphere, showcasing the dedication and vibrant spirit of UBD athletes as they represented their respective faculties.
Awards and prizes were then presented to outstanding participants and teams, bringing the ceremony to a close. The opening event set an enthusiastic tone for the PMUBD Sports Carnival 2025.
