The School of Business and Economics at Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBDSBE) hosted a forum titled “AI in Academia and Office: The Responsible Way Forward” on 1st April 2026 at the Senate Room, Chancellor Hall, Universiti Brunei Darussalam. The forum provides a platform for meaningful discussion on the growing role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in both academic and professional environments. As AI technologies continue to evolve rapidly, the event explores how these tools can be applied responsibly and ethically in education, research, and workplace practices.
The event is graced by Professor Dr Haji Noor Azam Orang Kaya Maha Bijaya Haji Othman, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Brunei Darussalam, as the guest of honour, followed by Dr Wardah Azimah, Dean of UBDSBE, who delivers the welcoming remarks, emphasising the importance of using AI responsibly while maintaining critical thinking, integrity, and accountability among future professionals. Organised as a collaborative initiative between the UBDSBE Strategic, Dynamics and Innovation Research Cluster and the student-led Project Management module, the forum brings together academics, industry practitioners, and students to exchange perspectives on the opportunities and challenges of AI responsible users.
The half-day forum features a panel discussion with invited speakers from academia and industry, followed by an interactive question-and-answer session. Participants gain insights into responsible AI practices while engaging in forward-looking discussions on the future of AI in learning and professional settings. The session is moderated by Dr Haji Mohamad Nabil Almunawar from UBDSBE and features a distinguished panel of speakers, including Md Imamull Qhaeer Bin Md Syamsol, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of AICREATIVV; Dr Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, Assistant Professor of Intelligent Robotics at Universiti Brunei Darussalam (Faculty of Digital Science); and Yip Chong, Solution Architect (Data & AI) at Dynamik Technologies.
The forum reflects UBDSBE’s commitment to fostering critical dialogue on emerging technologies and their impact on education and society, while emphasising the importance of balancing innovation with ethical responsibility.
