Bandar Seri Begawan, 2nd September 2026 – Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) launched its 11th UBD Career Fair 2026 at the UBD Chancellor Hall, bringing together employers, industry partners, students, graduates, alumni and members of the public for the two-day event held from 2nd to 3rd September 2026.
The Career Fair was officially launched by Dayang Siti Norashikin Mohammad Salleh, Permanent Secretary (Social and Manpower Policies), Ministry of Home Affairs, as the Guest of Honour.
Held under the theme ‘CareerProof’ with the tagline ‘Find Where You Want to Be,’ the UBD Career Fair 2026 highlighted the importance of adaptability, agility, curiosity and resilience in navigating an evolving world of work.
In her welcoming remarks, Dr Shariza Wahyuna Haji Shahrin, Director (UniCareer), Office of the Assistant Vice-Chancellor (Industry Engagement and Enterprise Development), underscored the significance of the theme, noting that “Being career-proof is not about predicting the future; it is about being prepared for it.” The message reflects UBD’s commitment to supporting a skilled, adaptable and future-ready workforce in line with the aspirations of Wawasan Brunei 2035.
The two-day event brought together nearly 50 employers and organisations from diverse sectors, providing students, graduates and other participants with opportunities to engage directly with industry, gain practical insight into workplace expectations and explore emerging career opportunities.
A key feature was the UBD Career Dialogue 2026, comprising three sessions focusing on graduate employability, career-ready skills for Brunei Darussalam’s workforce in an AI-driven workplace, and creating careers beyond traditional employment. The dialogues brought together policymakers, industry experts and key stakeholders to exchange perspectives on workforce readiness, emerging skills and evolving employment needs.
The programme also featured a Career Exhibition and Career Talks, including a closed-session delivered by the World Bank Group, enabling participants to broaden their understanding of current employment trends and gain practical insights into career and skills development.
Through the UBD Career Fair 2026, UBD continues to strengthen its role in connecting higher education with industry and supporting graduate employability and workforce readiness. The event provided students and graduates with opportunities to develop the knowledge, skills, networks and confidence to navigate an evolving world of work, while strengthening meaningful engagement with industry and the wider employment ecosystem.
The UBD Career Fair 2026 will be held from 8.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. on 2nd and 3rd September 2026 at Chancellor Hall, UBD, and is open to students, graduates, alumni and members of the public.
