The Institute of Applied Data Analytics (IADA) was established in 2017, with the consent of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and Chancellor of UBD. The Institute serves as a platform to conduct research and provide services, both industrial and academic, required from private and public agencies on the basis of collaborative or commissioned work.
The Institute of Applied Data Analytics (IADA) thrives to be a leading research institute in Data Analytics and its applications in economic development and social wellbeing. Developing human capabilities in Data Analytics through Graduate research and Training programmes is also an important objective of the Institute. The Institute is an amalgation of researchers and industrial collaborators from different disciplines, working together in the following areas, though not limited to:
One of the unique features of the Institute is its strategically designed structure, which encourages multi-disciplinary research collaborations. IADA provides the core support in Modeling and Analytics whereas the collaborating researchers bring in the expertise from their respective fields. This helps the Institutes to work closely with other faculties and research centers of the University.
