| The Institute of Asian Studies (IAS) at the Universiti of Brunei Darussalam is seeking to hire a scholar of social sciences and the humanities with expertise in ASEAN and regionalism, or Southeast Asian Studies, broadly defined. The area of specialization includes, but is not limited to international relations (including Brunei-China/East Asian relations), regional integration and globalization, cultural studies, and history. Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate enthusiasm to contribute to multi-disciplinary projects on issues in ASEAN and Southeast Asian contexts, and who have a vision for Asian Studies in the 21st century.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Sociology, Anthropology, History, Geography, International Relations, Political Science, Political Economy, or a related social-science discipline from a recognized university, with a notable record of research productivity and teaching excellence. The successful applicant should be able to teach modules in a trans-disciplinary way in areas of the social sciences in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences as well as related course(s) in other Faculties at UBD. Active participation in the activities of the Institute of Asian Studies including research, seminars and administration is also required. |
