ACADEMY OF BRUNEI STUDIES (ABS)

1.  Melayu Islam Beraja 
 
  • Assistant Professor | Lecturer 
  Applicants should hold a PhD in Social Sciences with a specialisation in Brunei Studies or related disciplines such as philosophy, theology, Islamic studies or political thought. The candidate must demonstrate expertise relevant to the study of Melayu Islam Beraja (MIB).  

Applicants are required to have a proven track record in research and scholarly publications. Teaching experience at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels is required, with the ability to teach in both Malay and English considered an added advantage.  

The successful candidate is expected to contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, supervise graduate research students, actively engage in research and publication and participate in academic and administrative activities of the Academy of Brunei Studies.  

2.  Socio Economy 
 
  • Assistant Professor | Lecturer 
  Applicants should hold a PhD in Social Sciences, Economics, Development Studies, or a related discipline, with demonstrated expertise in Brunei’s socio-economic context. Areas of interest may include socio-economic development, the halal industry, cottage industries, poverty alleviation, sustainability and human social development.  

Applicants must have a strong record of research and scholarly publications. Teaching experience at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels is required, with the ability to teach in both Malay and English considered an added advantage.  

The successful candidate is expected to teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses, supervise graduate research students, engage actively in research and publication and contribute to the administrative and academic responsibilities of the Academy of Brunei Studies.
