1.  Information Communications Systems 
 
  • Assistant Professor | Lecturer 
  The Faculty of Integrated Technologies (FIT) is seeking a highly qualified person in Information & Communication Systems to join our team, who will be able to:  

  • Teach courses in the areas of Network Security, 5G/6G Networks, Network Programming, Cloud Computing and other related areas  
  • Develop frameworks for learning and the design of instruction and improve assessment methods in related module(s) in various settings.  
  • Contribute to the research and publication activities through high-impact publications, engagement in the Institute, including research seminars and strengthening the Institute’s research clusters.   
  • Collaborate with academics and professionals within and outside UBD to make a global impact through excellence in research and innovation; and  
  • Actively participated in the activities of theInstitute. 

Academic and Professional Qualifications required: 

  • PhD in Information and Communication Systems, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering or a closely related discipline from a recognised university  
  • A strong academic background in communication systems, signal processing, data analytics, machine learning, and embedded systems is essential.  
  • Demonstrates an excellent record of research productivity and teaching excellence in the above areas, supported by publications in reputable journals and experience in laboratory-based or applied instruction.  
  • Proven ability to design, deliver, and update industry-aligned curricula, particularly in data analytics, IoT, AI/ML applications, signal processing, embedded systems design, or modern communication technologies.  
  • Preference will be given to candidates with a demonstrated capacity to contribute to programme development, applied research collaborationsutilising Python or R, and technology-driven capacity-building initiatives for government or industry stakeholders.  

 

2.  Industrial Systems 
 
  • Senior Professor / Professor / Assistant Professor / Lecturer 
  The Faculty of Integrated Technologies (FIT) seeks a Professor in Industrial Engineering who will: 

  • Provide academic leadership across Operations Research, Supply Chain/Logistics, Production Systems, Quality/Reliability, Human Factors and Smart/Advanced Manufacturing (Industry 4.0) 
  • Lead curriculum strategy, accreditation readiness and continuous improvement; oversee design of industry-aligned, research-informed modules and assessment  
  • Direct high- impact, externally funded research programs; grow and lead research clusters, labs, and centres of excellence 
  • Publish in top- tier journals; secure competitive grants; translate research to practice via industry partnerships and policy engagement 
  • Mentor and supervise students and early-career academics; build capacity and foster an inclusive research culture 
  • Develop strategic collaborations with global universities, government and industry; drive technology transfer and innovation  
  • Contribute to Institute governance and strategic initiatives; represent FIT on national / international committees and editorial boards  

  

Academic and Professional Qualifications required: 

  • PhD in Industrial/Systems/Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Research, or a closely related field from a recognised university 
  • Internationally recognised research record in optimisation and stochastic modelling, simulation, supply chain analytics, quality/reliability, human factors, and data- driven manufacturing (AI/ML, IIoT), evidenced by a sustained top-tier publication profile and impact    
  • Proven track record of leading large grants/centres, interdisciplinary projects and industry- funded research; experience with technology adoption in real-world settings 
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels; leadership in curriculum design, accreditation, and innovative pedagogy (digital twins, smart factories, decision analytics, Lean/Six Sigma)   
  • Extensive supervision of PhD/postdoctoral researchers with successful completions; strong mentoring and team-building record   
  • Evidence of academic service and leadership (programme development, research cluster direction, editorial roles, professional society leadership)    
  • Proficiency with relevant tools and platforms (e.g., Python/R, Gurobi/CPLEX, Arena/AnyLogic/Simul8); professional certifications (e.g., Lean Six Sigma, CEng/PEng) are advantageous 
  • Strong network with industry/government and a record of impactful collaborations, consultancy and capacity-building initiatives 

 

3.  Energy Systems 
 
  • Assistant Professor | Lecturer 
  The Faculty of Integrated Technologies (FIT) is seeking a highly qualified person in Energy Systems to join our team, who will be able to:   

  • Develop and conduct advanced, industry-aligned curriculum in the broad areas of Energy Audit, Green Energy and Energy Management.  
  • Lead cutting-edge research in the environment and sustainable energy management.  
  • Provide hands-on expertise in areas such as process simulation and energy storage.  
  • Incorporate industry case studies and facilitate guest lectures for practical insights.  
  • Mentor students in research projects, career guidance, and professional development.  
  • Collaborate with academics and professionals within and outside UBD to make a global impact through excellence in research and innovation; and  
  • Actively participated in the activities of the Institute.  

Academic and Professional Qualifications required: 

  • PhD in Energy Engineering, or a closely related discipline from a recognised university  
  • Proven expertise in emerging and sustainable energy technologies, such as: Renewable and alternative energy systems, automation, smart manufacturing, Energy storage, hydrogen, or low-carbon technologies, Energy process optimisation and systems integration  
  • Must have a solid background in Electric Power systems including electric power equipment and power distribution systems  
  • Proven expertise in emerging and sustainable energy technologies, such as: Renewable and alternative energy systems, automation, smart manufacturing, Energy storage, hydrogen, or low-carbon technologies, Energy process optimisation and systems integration  
  • Demonstrated ability to teach and develop energy-focused undergraduate and postgraduate modules  
  • Strong research track record with publications in reputable international journals and evidence of research grant success  
  • Experience supervising final-year projects and postgraduate research in energy-related areas  
  • Evidence of industry engagement, applied research, or collaborative projects in the energy sector  
  • Ability to lead new research initiatives, mentor junior staff, and support interdisciplinary collaboration
