1.  Contemporary Qur’an and Sunnah Studies 
 
  • Associate Professor | Assistant Professor | Lecturer 
  The Sultan Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Centre of Islamic Studies seeks a highly qualified candidate in the field of Contemporary Quran and Sunnah Studies to join our team. The successful candidate will be able to:  

  • Teach courses in Contemporary Quran and Sunnah Studies for postgraduate programs in Islamic Civilisation and Contemporary Issues and Islamic Studies offered by the Centre, as well as related modules offered by other Faculties, Institutes, and Centres (FICs) at Universiti Brunei Darussalam.  
  • Develop frameworks for learning, design instruction, and improve assessment methods in related modules across various settings.  
  • Contribute to research and publication activities through high-impact publications, engagement in research seminars, and strengthening the Faculty’s research clusters.  
  • Collaborate with academics and professionals within and outside UBD to make a global impact through excellence in research and innovation.  
  • Actively participate in Faculty activities.  

 

Academic and Professional Qualifications required: 

  • PhD in Islamic Studies or a closely related field (such as specialization in Quranic Studies, Sunnah Studies, Sciences of the Quran or Sciences of the Sunnah) from an internationally recognized university.  
  • Outstanding record of research productivity through research grants and publications, and teaching excellence in the field.  
  • Experience in designing demand-driven programs for government and/or private sectors and conducting lectures for professional/executive development programs in relevant areas of leadership is an added advantage.  
  • Preference for those who have taught and supervised research students at the graduate level.

  The Sultan Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Centre of Islamic Studies seeks a highly qualified candidate in the field of Contemporary Islamic Society and Structure to join our team. The successful candidate will be able to:  

  • Teach courses in Contemporary Islamic Society and Structure for postgraduate programs in Islamic Civilisation and Contemporary Issues and Islamic Studies offered by the Centre, as well as related modules offered by other Faculties, Institutes, and Centres (FICs) at Universiti Brunei Darussalam.
