Position / Area 

• Assistant Professor | Lecturer 

• teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in areas such as Financial Technology, Digital Finance, Blockchain and Digital Assets, Payments Systems, Regulatory Technology (RegTech), Digital Banking, and FinTech Applications, within programmes offered by UBDSBE and other Faculties, Institutes, and Centres (FICs) in Universiti Brunei Darussalam;  

• develop innovative learning and assessment frameworks that integrate finance, technology, data, and regulatory considerations;  

• contribute to high-impact research and publications in FinTech, digital finance, financial innovation, or related interdisciplinary fields, and actively participate in research seminars and UBDSBE research clusters;  

• collaborate with academics, financial institutions, regulators, technology firms, and policy stakeholders within and outside UBD to enhance the relevance and impact of FinTech education and research;  

• actively participate in the academic, research, and service activities of UBDSBE.  

Academic and Professional Qualifications Required: 

• PhD in Finance, Financial Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science (with finance focus), or a closely related discipline from a recognised university;  

• Demonstrated evidence of research activity and/or publications in FinTech, digital finance, or related areas;  

• Demonstrated teaching capability in FinTech or technology-enabled finance subjects at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels;  

• Ability to develop and teach graduate-level courses and supervise Master’s and PhD research students;  

• Industry experience, professional certifications, or involvement in FinTech projects, digital platforms, or regulatory initiatives will be an added advantage;  

• Experience in designing demand-driven programmes, executive education, or industry-engaged teaching will be an added advantage.

• Assistant Professor | Lecturer 

• teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in areas such as Financial Data Analytics, Machine Learning in Finance, AI in Finance, FinTech Analytics, Risk Analytics, and Quantitative Methods, within programmes offered by UBDSBE and other Faculties, Institutes, and Centres (FICs) in Universiti Brunei Darussalam.   

• develop innovative learning frameworks, including applied, programming-based, and data-driven instructional designs, and continuously improve assessment methods aligned with industry and research standards;  

• contribute actively to high-impact research and publications, participate in research seminars, and strengthen UBDSBE’s research clusters in analytics, finance, and digital innovation;  

• collaborate with academics, industry practitioners, and policy stakeholders within and outside UBD to enhance the global impact of research and teaching;  

• participate actively in the academic and administrative activities of UBDSBE.  

Academic and Professional Qualifications Required  

• PhD in Finance, Data Analytics, Financial Engineering, Computer Science (with finance focus), or a closely related discipline from a recognised university;  

• Demonstrated evidence of research productivity through publications in reputable journals and/or funded research projects;  

• Demonstrated teaching excellence, particularly in data-driven, programming-based, or applied finance modules;  

• Ability to develop and teach graduate-level courses and supervise Master’s and PhD students;  

• Experience in designing demand-driven programmes, professional or executive training, or industry-engaged teaching will be an added advantage.

• teach courses in areas of Business Law and Corporate Law for Business Administration programmes offered by UBD School of Business and Economics (UBDSBE), and modules offered by other Faculties, Institutes, and Centres (FICs) in Universiti Brunei Darussalam;   

• develop frameworks for learning and the design of instruction, and improve assessment methods in related module(s) in various settings (contexts);   

• contribute to the research and publication activities through high-impact publications, engagement in the Institute, including research seminars, and strengthening the UBDSBE’s research clusters;   

• to collaborate with academics and professionals within and outside UBD to make a global impact through excellence in research and innovation; and  

• active participation in the activities of UBDSBE.  

Academic and Professional Qualifications required:  

• PhD in Business/corporate law or a related field from a recognised university with a previous educational background (LLB and LLM) in corporate/business law;  

• Demonstrates an outstanding record of research productivity and teaching excellence in the field of corporate/business law;  

• Applicants’ experience in designing demand-driven programs for the government and/or private sector and conducting lectures for professional/executive development programs in relevant areas of leadership would be an added advantage; and  

• Preference will be given to those who have taught (and supervised research students) at the graduate level.

• PhD in Economics or a closely related field (with a specialisation in Environmental Economics/Microeconomics) from an internationally recognised university.   

• Demonstrate an outstanding record of research productivity through research grants and publications, and teaching excellence in the above fields.

Academic and Professional Qualifications required:   

• PhD in the primary domain of Supply Chain or Data Analytics in Logistics or a related discipline, such as Operations Management or Industrial Management, from a recognized university with a previous educational background (BSc and/or MSc, etc.) also in supply chain or data analytics in logistics.  

• Demonstrate a credible track record of research and teaching in the field of supply chain management or data analytics in logistics or operations management;  

• Experience in supply chain analytics and simulation, optimization, and application of software or tools in teaching supply chain and logistics modules is vital for this position.  

• Able to develop and teach courses at the graduate level and supervise master’s and Ph.D. candidates. Preference will be given to those who have taught and supervised graduate-level research students.

• design and implement rigorous analytical frameworks for learning, and enhance assessment methods that integrate empirical analysis, policy relevance, and real-world financial data;  

• contribute to high-impact research, participate in research seminars, and strengthen UBDSBE’s research clusters in banking, risk, and financial systems;  

• collaborate with academics, regulators, financial institutions, and policy stakeholders locally and internationally to generate impactful research and knowledge exchange;  

• actively participate in the academic, research, and service activities of UBDSBE.  

Academic and Professional Qualifications Required: 

• PhD in Finance, Banking, Financial Risk, or a closely related discipline from a recognised university;  

• A strong record or clear trajectory of research publications in reputable journals in banking, risk, or financial economics;  

• Demonstrated teaching capability in banking and risk-related subjects at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels;  

• Ability to supervise Master’s and PhD research students;  

• Experience in policy-oriented research, industry engagement, or professional/executive education will be an added advantage.

• collaborate with academics, professional accounting bodies, regulators, and industry practitioners within and outside UBD to enhance the relevance and impact of accounting education and research;

Academic and Professional Qualifications Required : 

• PhD in Accounting with focus in Auditing, Corporate Law or Taxation from a recognised university;  

• Demonstrated evidence of research activity and/or publications in financial accounting, auditing, or closely related areas;  

• Demonstrated teaching excellence in accounting and auditing subjects at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels;  

• Ability to develop and teach graduate-level courses and supervise Master’s and PhD research students;  

• Professional accounting qualifications (e.g. ACCA) and/or professional practice experience will be an added advantage;  

• Experience in designing demand-driven programmes, professional or executive education, or industry-engaged teaching will be an added advantage.

Academic and Professional Qualifications required:  

• PhD in Management Information Systems, Information Systems, Information Technology Management, or a closely related field from a recognised university;  

• Demonstrated excellence in teaching and a strong record of research productivity, preferably in areas such as Digital Business, Data Analytics, IT Strategy, AI in Business, ERP Systems, or E-Government, Simulations in MIS;  

• Applicants with experience in developing and teaching interdisciplinary MIS-related programs and courses integrating business and technology are highly desirable.  

• Experience in designing demand-driven programs for government or private sector organisations and conducting lectures for professional/executive development programs would be an added advantage; and  

• Preference will be given to those with experience supervising graduate-level research students (Master’s and PhD).
