The Institute of Asian Studies is conducting a research on subsistence hunting in Temburong, and seeks to hire One part-time Research Assistant (RA) for a period of three months starting from October 1 2026.
The Role
We seek physically fit candidates experienced in gathering primary data through face-to-face interviews, and transcribe the data into English. Candidates from Temburong with strong ties to the local communities will be given preference.
Minimum requirements:
- Bruneian Citizen
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences (Candidates from the life sciences are also welcome to apply, if they have prior experiences in conducting interviews/ surveys).
- Excellent skills in recruiting participants and conducting interviews
- Evidence of qualitative research skills
- Good communication skills in Malay and English. Ability to converse in Iban and Lun Bawang (Murut) language will be an advantage.
