About
Assoc. Prof. Kong Ho utilizes his bicultural background as teaching artist of Chinese and Western art to teach as associate professor and program leader at the Universiti Brunei Darussalam, Brunei, since 2011. Prof. Ho has received a Fulbright U.S. Scholarship (2009-10), taught mural painting at the National Academy of Art in Sofia, Bulgaria, for 5 months; VSA arts Teaching Artist Fellowship (2008-09); Hong Kong Baptist University Fellowship (2006); and Sasakawa Fellowship (2005). Always looking for opportunities to inform the public of the educational and cultural value of art, he devotes his time in art, community murals and teaching. Ho derives much of his art imagery from his cultural heritage, and his interest in digital art and nature. His work instills a sense of visual tension and meditative quality, and has been exhibited in more than 90 international exhibitions including United States, Canada, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Japan, China, Thailand, Brunei Darussalam, Singapore and Hong Kong. His art work has been exhibited in venues such as the United Nations Headquarters in New York City, the US Ambassadors’ Residences in Macedonia, Clymer Museum and Gallery in Washington, Amarillo Museum of Art in Texas, Fine Arts Museums in New Mexico, University of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania, Joseph D. Carrier Art Gallery in Canada, New Bulgarian University in Bulgaria, Osaka Prefecture University in Japan, National Institute of Education Art Gallery in Singapore, Hong Kong Heritage Museum and Hong Kong Museum of Art in Hong Kong. His research articles have been published in several journals, such as Teaching Artist Journal, The International Journal of the Arts in Society, and History Research.
