Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) marked the occasion of Nuzul Al-Quran 1446H with a Khatam Al-Quran Ceremony and Special Tadabbur Al-Quran at Masjid Universiti, UBD. The event brought together the university community in a spiritually enriching gathering of reflection and unity on Friday, 21st March 2025 (20th Ramadhan 1446H).
The ceremony was graced by the Vice-Chancellor of UBD, Dr Hazri Haji Kifle, as the guest of honour, alongside distinguished guests, faculty members, students, and members of the local community.
The event commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Surah Ad-Dhuha, led by the Imam of Masjid Universiti, Muhammad Wafiy bin Awang Mohammad and Haji Jalil bin Haji Patra. This was followed by the collective recitation of Quranic verses, culminating in the completion of the Khatam Al-Quran. Adding to the spiritual atmosphere, members of UBD’s Dikir, Nasyid, and Tausyeh Club performed the Takhtim, enhancing the occasion’s solemnity.
Following the recitations, the congregation joined in the Doa Khatam Al-Quran and Doa Kesyukuran, expressing gratitude for the blessings of the holy month.
A Special Tadabbur Al-Quran session was then delivered by Dr Haji Mohammad Shahrol Azmi Haji Abdul Muluk, Assistant Ra’es (Student Affairs Section and Alumni), Kolej Perguruan Ugama Seri Begawan (KUPUSB). His insightful talk reflected on the significance of Nuzul Al-Quran and its relevance in daily life.
As part of the event’s charitable initiatives, donations were presented by the guest of honour to orphaned children from all four districts, reinforcing the spirit of generosity and community support.
The ceremony concluded with the Doa Selamat, marking the end of a meaningful and spiritually fulfilling gathering.
This annual event serves as a reminder of UBD’s commitment to fostering Islamic values, unity, and gratitude among its community.
