UBD Alumni Recognised at Proudly Brunei Business Awards 2025

Universiti Brunei Darussalam congratulates its alumni who were recently recognised at the Proudly Brunei Business Awards 2025, an event organised by the Brunei Economic Development Board (BEDB) to celebrate outstanding local entrepreneurs and businesses.

Among the award recipients was Ahmad Fathi Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Norafan, founder of Fatih Aquaculture. He received the Open Category Startup Award and is a UBD graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, Class of 2020.

Nuramanina Zamri, who graduated in 2022 with a Bachelor of Business in Business Administration, was awarded the Open Category Women Entrepreneur Award. She is the founder of Beauteleven Company, a local brand making waves in the beauty industry.

Also recognised was Dayangku Nurqistina Pengiran Haji Hassanan, founder of WeddingLoka Company. She was honoured with the Open Category Youth Entrepreneur Award and the Priority Sectors Category Services Award. She graduated in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts in Professional Communication and the Media.

These achievements highlight the growing influence of young entrepreneurs in Brunei and the positive impact UBD alumni are making in various industries. Their stories are a reminder of what perseverance, creativity and a strong sense of purpose can accomplish.

Each award recipient received BND10,000 from the Chairman of BEDB, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew Abdullah. They were also matched with strategic partners to support their business journeys through new opportunities, programmes and potential collaborations.

UBD’s Assistant Vice-Chancellor (Industry Engagement and Enterprise Development), Dr Haji Masairol Haji Masri, and Deputy Director of Entrepreneurship Development, Dr Annie Dayani Abdullah Ahad, attended the awards ceremony. Their presence reflects the university’s ongoing commitment to nurturing and supporting student startups and alumni entrepreneurs.

UBD is proud to see its graduates making meaningful contributions to Brunei’s economic growth and hopes their achievements will continue to inspire the next generation of innovators.
