Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) held a press conference announcing the upcoming UBD Ruby Run 2025, set to take place on 26th October 2025.
This exciting event will flag off from the picturesque Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien in Bandar Seri Begawan and promises an engaging day for runners of all levels.
The Ruby Run will feature three categories: Fun Run, an inclusive event where everyone, regardless of age or ability, is invited to participate; 5km Run, open to both men and women, which will challenge runners to push their limits; and 10km Run, also divided into men’s and women’s categories, which is designed for more experienced athletes.
In the spirit of giving back, 30 percent of the event’s profits or $1,000 – whichever is higher – will be donated to Department of Community Development’s (JAPEM) Orphans Fund (Tabung Anak-Anak Yatim), supporting the welfare of orphans in Brunei Darussalam.
UBD Vice-Chancellor Dr Hazri Haji Kifle is slated to officiate the race flag-off.
“We are thrilled to bring together runners from across the country to celebrate health, community, and compassion,” said a UBD spokesperson, Mr. Lim Kok Shien, Head of Advancement, Office of Alumni Relations and Advancement (OARA). “The Ruby Run 2025 is more than just a race – it’s a movement for inclusivity and charity.”
