Wednesday, 6th August 2025/12 Safar 1447 – Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) held a spiritually meaningful Khatam Al-Quran and Doa Kesyukuran Ceremony at the Masjid Universiti, UBD, in conjunction with its upcoming 37th Convocation.
The ceremony was part of Pesta Konvo 2025, an annual celebration that commemorates the achievements of UBD graduates through a series of meaningful and enriching activities.
The arrival of the guest of honour, Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohammad Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan, marked the commencement of the ceremony. Also in attendance was UBD Vice-Chancellor, Dr Hazri Haji Kifle.
The event saw the participation of 234 graduands who completed the Al-Quran recitation for the ceremony. The event began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by the guest of honour, followed by the recitation of Surah Ad-Dhuha until Surah Al-Masad by the participants. Subsequently, the Takhtim recitation and Khatam Al-Quran prayer were conducted by the participants.
A Dikir Marhaban performance was presented, concluding with the presentation of mementos to the participants as a token of appreciation and solidarity.
The ceremony concluded with a Doa Kesyukuran led by the Imam of the Masjid Universiti, Muhammad Wafiy Awang Mohammad, expressing gratitude for the smooth running of the event and the success of the graduates.
The Khatam Al-Quran and Doa Kesyukuran Ceremony is one of several events commemorating the achievements of this year’s graduates with the aim of strengthening the bonds of unity and gratitude among the university community.
