BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, 31st October 2025 – Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) held a Doa Kesyukuran and Tadabbur Khas Al-Quran event at the Masjid Universiti, UBD, in conjunction with UBD’s 40th Anniversary Celebrations.
UBD Vice-Chancellor Dr Hazri Haji Kifle was present as the guest of honour. The ceremony was also attended by members of the organising committee, Principal Officers, staff, and students of UBD.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by the launch of a special commemorative publication titled Himpunan Surah dan 40 Doa Pilihan (A Collection of Surahs and 40 Selected Doa) by Dr Hazri.
This was followed by the recitation of Surah Yaasin and Doa Kesyukuran to express gratitude for the university’s four decades of achievements and contributions to the nation’s development in education, research, and innovation.
The event concluded with a Tadabbur Khas Al-Quran session by Lieutenant Colonel Abdul Mujib Haji Japar, Acting Director of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) Religious Directorate (JAMA’AT), reflecting on the significance of gratitude, knowledge, and faith as the foundation of UBD’s continued excellence and commitment to nurturing future leaders. A token of appreciation was subsequently presented to the invited speaker.
The event served as a meaningful reminder of UBD’s journey over the past 40 years and its dedication to advancing knowledge, community and spirituality in line with the university’s motto, “Ke Arah Kesempurnaan Insan (Towards Human Excellence)”.
