A Khatam Al-Quran Ceremony and Special Tadabbur Al-Quran session was held at Masjid Universiti, Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) in conjunction with the commemoration of Nuzul Al-Quran 1447H, bringing together members of the UBD community for a meaningful religious gathering. The event was jointly organised by the Student Affairs Section, UBD and the Student Representative Council (PMUBD). It was coordinated by the Spiritual and Community Service Unit, the Executive of Spiritual and Community Service, and the Spiritual Bureau of the Student Bodies from each faculty.
The event was attended by the Guest of Honour, Dr Hazri Haji Kifle, Vice-Chancellor of UBD, along with university officials, staff, students, and invited guests.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Surah Ad-Dhuha led by Imam Abdul Muhaimin bin Dr Haji Serbini, Imam of Masjid Universiti, UBD. This was followed by the collective recitation of selected surahs to complete the Khatam Al-Quran. Members of UBD’s Dikir, Nasyid and Tausyeh Club then recited the Takhtim, followed by the Doa Khatam Al-Quran led by Imam Abdul Muhaimin.
The programme continued with a Special Tadabbur Al-Quran session delivered by Ustaz Mohammad Nasyith bin Superi, Religious Officer, Pusat Da’wah Islamiah, Kementerian Hal Ehwal Ugama. In the session titled “Mengukuhkan Pembelajaran Al-Quran dan Menghayati Ajarannya,” the speaker highlighted the importance of strengthening one’s relationship with the Quran through continuous learning, understanding its teachings, and applying its guidance in daily life. The Guest of Honour also presented a token of appreciation to the invited speaker.
As part of the ceremony, donations were presented by the Guest of Honour to orphaned children, single mothers, and muallaf within the UBD community. Donations were also handed over to representatives supporting orphaned children from all four districts of Negara Brunei Darussalam. The ceremony concluded with the recitation of Doa Selamat led by Imam Abdul Muhaimin bin Dr Haji Serbini.
