Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) took literal steps in the fight against sedentary lifestyle, demonstrating solidarity and a strong sense of community with its achievements in the BN On The Move (BNOTM) Championship 2025.
For the collective effort of UBD staff and students, UBD was awarded second place for ‘The Most Engaged Team (Higher Education Sector) and third place for ‘The Most Active Team (Higher Education Sector) at the closing ceremony of the BNOTM Championship 2025, held on 23rd April 2026.
The achievement showcases the teamwork, commitment, and dedication of the UBD community that came together to support health, wellness, and an active lifestyle. UBD has long supported well-being through initiatives such as its Wednesday Wellness sessions and various student-led awareness campaigns. The Healthy University Roadmap, which was launched on 5th August 2025, formalises this commitment, expanding the university’s role beyond academic excellence to become a hub for holistic growth.
The Roadmap outlines a three-year strategic plan to cultivate a dynamic environment where lifelong habits, attitudes, and values around health and well-being are formed. A healthy campus enables the UBD community to thrive physically, mentally, and socially. Achieving this requires integrated, evidence-based, and sustainable actions that embed health into every aspect of university life—from governance and infrastructure to academic practices and student support services.
The Healthy university Roadmap also aligns perfectly with the Ministry of Health (MoH) and the Health Promotion Centre’s motto “Ke Arah Warga Sihat”(Together Towards Healthy Citizens).
MoH urges the public to continue using the BruHealth app to sustain healthy habits to support the broader goals of Wawasan Brunei 2035.
Since BNOTM started in 2022, a total of 230,188 participants nationwide have enrolled. BNOTM has since adopted a more comprehensive and challenging format, combining physical activities with daily health missions such as proper hydration, quality sleep, and healthy eating, alongside team-based challenges.
