Universiti Brunei Darussalam’s (UBD) weekly Quranic Journey programme at Masjid Universiti was made more significant on 24th April 2026 as staff and students gathered in preparation for upcoming examinations and Hajj pilgrimage.
Professor Dr Haji Noor Azam Orang Kaya Maha Bijaya (OKMB) Haji Othman, UBD Deputy Vice-Chancellor, together with university officials, staff, students, and invited guests joined in the Sembahyang Sunat Hajat, performed with the intention of seeking ease and success for examinations as well as for those preparing to undertake the Hajj. This was followed by the recitation of Surah Yaasin accompanied by a short tazkirah (reflective talk), creating a contemplative atmosphere for all in attendance.
The highlight of the morning was a Sesi Tadabbur Al-Quran delivered by Dr Haji Mohammad Shahrol Azmi Haji Abdul Muluk, Assistant Ra’es III for Student Affairs and Alumni, Seri Begawan Religious Teachers University College (KUPUSB). In his session titled “Iktibar Haji Dalam Pengurusan Masa Bagi Membina Disiplin, Fokus dan Kesabaran Menghadapi Ujian” (Lessons From Hajj in Time Management to Build Discipline, Focus, and Patience in Facing Challenges), he shared meaningful insights on how the experience of Hajj can shape one’s discipline, strengthen focus, and cultivate patience in navigating life’s challenges.
At the event, Professor Dr Haji Noor Azam also presented donations to five UBD Hajj pilgrims, symbolising support and encouragement as they prepare for their spiritual journey.
The special Quranic Journey programme reinforced the importance of spiritual readiness and unity within the UBD community as they face both academic and personal journeys ahead.
