KUALA LUMPUR, 30 April 2026 — Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) has formalised a strategic partnership with MIMOS International Venture Sdn Bhd (MIVSB) to strengthen its efforts in translating research, intellectual property and deep tech innovation into ventures that can grow within Brunei Darussalam and beyond.
The collaboration brings together UBD’s research and academic talent with MIVSB’s experience in commercialisation, venture development and market access. Through this partnership, innovations developed within the university, including intellectual property, deep tech solutions and startup ventures, will be supported towards real world application and market readiness.
UBD’s capabilities in interdisciplinary research, particularly in areas such as artificial intelligence, digital technologies and deep tech, are complemented by MIVSB’s role in connecting research outputs with industry demand, investment and international markets. The partnership is expected to support the progression of ideas from early stage development into scalable solutions.
The collaboration also supports UBD researchers in advancing their work beyond the laboratory and into practical application, strengthening the university’s role in translating research into outcomes that contribute to industry and regional development.
