BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, 20th MAY 2026 – The Universiti Brunei Darussalam Student Representative Council (PMUBD) Sports Carnival 2025 ended on 20th May 2026, marking the culmination of a student-led initiative that commenced on 16th December 2025.
The carnival involved students from across Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) participating in a wide range of sporting activities, which included football, netball, and e-sports, fostering camaraderie, teamwork, and active student participation throughout the programme.
Organised as a long-term platform to strengthen student engagement beyond the classroom, the initiative emphasised leadership development, resilience, collaboration, and sportsmanship among participants. Throughout the competition period, students were encouraged to build meaningful connections while cultivating values essential for both personal and professional growth.
The closing ceremony, held at the Pro-Chancellor Arts Centre, was graced by the Guest of Honour, Dr Hazri Haji Kifle, Vice-Chancellor of UBD. The event gathered students, athletes, performers, and members of the university community in celebration of the strong participation and enthusiasm demonstrated throughout the carnival.
One of the highlights of the ceremony was a student reflection segment, where participants shared their experiences and personal growth throughout the programme. The reflections underscored how the carnival contributed to enhancing students’ confidence, discipline, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
The PMUBD Sports Carnival 2025 concluded as a meaningful initiative that continues to reinforce the importance of student engagement in co-curricular activities, contributing to the holistic development of UBD students and strengthening campus unity across faculties.
