With the aim of strengthening digital capability development and supporting Brunei Darussalam’s aspirations for a resilient, future-ready digital economy, Universiti brunei Darussalam (UBD) formalised a strategic partnership with Innov8 Labs Sdn Bhd through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the UBD Startup Centre @ Entrepreneurship Village (USC @ EV) on 11th June 2026.
Under the MoU, both parties will collaborate on initiatives in cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence (AI), data protection, digital governance, and technology capability development through training programmes, workshops, industry engagement activities, and knowledge-sharing sessions. The partnership will provide students and staff with opportunities for hands-on learning, professional certification pathways, internships, innovation challenges, applied research, and exposure to emerging technologies and industry best practices.
By combining UBD’s academic expertise with Innov8 Labs’ industry experience, the collaboration seeks to strengthen academia-industry linkages, foster innovation and entrepreneurship, and equip future talent with the skills needed to thrive in an increasingly digital and technology-driven economy, which supports Wawasan Brunei 2035.
Innov8 Labs Sdn Bhd was established in 2022 in Singapore, with a vision to transform the Information Technology (IT) solutions landscape across Southeast Asia. It expanded to India in 2023, establishing a dedicated talent hub to bridge regional skills gaps. Last year, it launched as a Global Capability Centre in Brunei Darussalam, where it now empowers local talent while fueling innovation across the region.
