Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) hosted the ceremony of Presentation of Books to Universiti Brunei Darussalam by His Excellency Mr Ramu Abbagani, High Commissioner of India to Brunei Darussalam on 18th June 2026. The book collection covers various topics such as history, science & technology, literature, culture, and leadership to enrich teaching, research, and student learning at UBD.
In attendance during the ceremony are academics, researchers and students, as well as the Indian community in Brunei Darussalam. During the event, His Excellency Mr Ramu Abbagani formally presented the book collection to Dr Hazri bin Haji Kifle, Vice-Chancellor of UBD. The collection was subsequently handed over to Awang Ahmad Safwan bin Jalil, Acting Chief Librarian, for inclusion in the UBD Library’s collection.
The book donation will advance UBD’s internationalisation goals by supporting curriculum enhancement, comparative study, and collaborative research with universities and academic institutions in India. UBD values expanded opportunities for academic collaboration such as through faculty exchanges, joint research, co-supervision of graduate students, visiting fellowships, and student mobility programmes with higher education institutions in India. Currently India Institute of Technology in New Delhi (IIT Delhi) is UBD’s partner university.
