Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) remains at the forefront of higher education in Brunei Darussalam, locally acclaimed and ranked globally, affirming its international recognition for excellence in teaching and research.

Established in 1985, Brunei Darussalam’s first university has quickly grown from what was essentially a teaching university into one of research that is internationally recognised. As the top institution in the country, UBD is the leader in innovation, producing future-ready graduates, creating opportunities for enterprise and advocating lifelong learning.

With 9 academic faculties and 7 research institutes on campus, Universiti Brunei Darussalam takes the spotlight as 4th in ASEAN with impactful and industry-relevant research thrusts which include Biodiversity, Energy, Asian Studies, Islamic Studies, Data Analytics, Sensor Technology, Catalysis, and Herbal Research. Its most recently added Research Groups include Bioinspiration, Optoelectronic Devices, as well as Biosensor, Halal Science and Detection.

The relentless and collective efforts of UBD’s academic and administrative staff along with support of both government and private sectors, have ensured first-class quality education for every student.
