Generating Visibility in Digital Marketplaces: A Quantitative Content Analysis of Micro-Entrepreneur Social Media Practices

The School of Business and Economics is currently undertaking a research project entitled Generating Visibility in Digital Marketplaces: A Quantitative Content Analysis of Micro-Entrepreneur Social Media Practices and is seeking to appoint one (1) part-time Research Assistant for a six-month period from August 2026 to January 2027.

The Role

The selected candidate will be engaged for up to 66 working days throughout the six-month appointment period. Responsibilities include:

  • Collecting and organising research data through social media platforms, surveys, and interviews
  • Entering, managing, and transcribing survey responses and audio recordings
  • Conducting literature searches and assisting with academic references
  • Translating Malay-language data and documents into English
  • Assisting with quantitative and qualitative research-related tasks as assigned by the researcher

Minimum Requirements

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Possess a Master’s degree in Business, Social Sciences, or a related field
  • Bruneian citizen or permanent resident
  • Fluent in both Malay (Brunei Malay and Standard Malay) and English
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in Malay–English translation
  • Computer literate, particularly in Microsoft Word, and willing to learn quantitative and qualitative data analysis software
  • Able to work independently and manage tasks within strict deadlines
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
