The Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah Institute of Education (SHBIE) UBD of the UBD/RSCH/1.7/FICBF/2024/019 is conducting a research on Preliminary Research on Religious Primary Schools and the General Primary School System Integration Scheme in Brunei Darussalam, and seeks to hire two full-time Research Assistants for 20 days starting from 15th June 2026 until 31st July 2026. 

The Role

We seek candidates with adequate knowledge, skills, and experience in conducting fieldwork and software-specific skills such as Excel, SPSS and, NVivo.

Minimum requirements:

  1. Master Holders
  2. Has previous experience in conducting fieldwork research
  3. Demonstrated quantitative/qualitative research skills
  4. Demonstrated excellent written and communication skills

  • Assist researchers with fieldwork and primary data collection, including literature studies, interviews, surveys, and observations.
  • Conduct fieldwork including interviews, surveys, and observations.
  • Aid in the preparation of Fin 2 forms, procurement documentation, and other research-related documents for the project.
  • Prepared and helped manage standard operating procedures (SOPs) for equipment, as well as fieldwork and other research-related programs and activities, including workshops and seminars.
  • Coordinate logistics for research activities, such as scheduling interviews, focus groups, and meetings.
  • Conduct secondary data collection, such as reports and statistics, and manage the data.
  • Assist in the recruitment of respondents and informants.
  • Perform data entry tasks, including transcribing data.
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative data analysis using related software such as Excel, SPSS and, NVivo.

Support researchers in the preparation of manuscripts and materials related to publication.
