We are seeking candidates with experience in analytical method validation and the use of analytical instruments for the analysis of chemical compounds.
The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in extracting chemical compounds from both solid and liquid samples using solid–liquid extraction (SLE) and liquid–liquid extraction (LLE) techniques. Experience operating a gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC–MS) system for the analysis and characterization of extracted organic compounds is highly desirable.
Minimum requirements:
1. Brunei Citizen or Permanent Resident
2. MSc degree in Chemistry
3. Able to perform basic laboratory work, preparation of standard solutions, conduct literature reviews, write papers, and handle administrative tasks and procurement matters.
4. Experience in using analytical instruments such as Gas Chromatography-Mass spectrometry (GCMS) and FTIR
5. Having experience working with a few groups of organic compounds such as Polynuclear Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) as well as Bisphenol A and its analogues is an advantage
6. Good level of analytical and problem-solving capability
7. Demonstrated good English writing skill
