Entry Requirements

General Requirement

  • At least Credit C6 in English Language at GCE ‘O’ Level Examination ; or
  • a Grade ‘B’ in IGCSE English (as a Second Language) ; or
  • IELTS score of 6.0 ; or
  • a TOEFL (PBT) minimum overall score of 550 ; or
  • a TOEFL (IBT) minimum overall score of 60 ; or
  • Band B2 in the UBD English Proficiency Test.

‘O’ Level Qualification or equivalent

A minimum of:

  • at least Credit C6 in Mathematics; **
    OR
  • Grade B in IGCSE Mathematics. **

GCE ‘A’ Level Qualification or its equivalent

Pre-2017 UCAS Tariff Points
A minimum of 160 points for two (2) ‘A’ Level passes or 200 points for three (3) ‘A’ Level passes in English-medium subjects.

UCAS Tariff Points*
A minimum of 64 points for two (2) ‘A’ Level passes OR 80 points for three (3) ‘A’ Level passes in English-medium subjects.


International Baccalaureate

International Baccalaureate Diploma or International Baccalaureate Certificate with a minimum score 24 points, including:

  • a minimum of 5 points each, in at least two relevant subjects taken at Higher Level; or
  • 5, 5, 4 points for three relevant subjects taken at Higher Level.

Higher National Diploma (HND) / Advanced Diploma Qualification

Any relevant HND or equivalent from institutions recognised by Senate.

Any statistics or mathematics course passed with Merit and above at HND level can be considered in place of the mathematics requirement.


Other Qualification

First year of Bachelor degree from institutions recognised by Senate would be considered on a case-by-case basis.


Applicants with Prior Work Experience

At least five (5) years of working experience in related fields; AND at least one (1) GCE ‘A’ Level pass or equivalent in a relevant subject.


Fulfilling the entry requirements does not guarantee admission to the programme. Admission is competitive and limited.

Applicants may be required to undergo one or more entrance tests or interviews as deemed appropriate by the Faculty to assess suitability to pursue the programme.
