Universiti of Brunei Darussalam (UBD) took a significant step to collaborate and initiate a working relationship in different areas of mutual interest in human capacity development of Bruneians for the logistic and port industry with the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Muara Port Company Sdn Bhd (MPC) at the Seminar Room, Main Library, UBD.
Present at the event was the Chief Executive Officer of Muara Port Company, Yang Mulia Zeng Cai Li as the Guest of Honor.
Signing on behalf of the UBD was Yang Mulia Assoc. Prof. Pg Dr Iskandar Pg Hj Petra, Assistant Vice Chancellor (Academic Affairs), Universiti Brunei Darussalam while Yang Mulia Lyu Guoli, Chief Finance Officer, Muara Port Company represented MPC. Witnessing the signing ceremony was Yang Mulia Dr Masairol Hj Masri, Dean of UBDSBE, and Yang Mulia Hjh Azian Hj Mohammad, Human Resource Manager, Muara Port Company.
The MoU serves as a framework for both institutions to leverage each other’s strengths to advance academic, research, and technological endeavours while fostering innovation, development, and mutual growth. The MoU also focuses on the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program offered at UBD School of Business and Economics (UBDSBE). The programme is carefully designed to provide students with leadership qualities, cutting-edge skill sets, industry connections, advanced knowledge, and real-world experience. The collaboration with MPC will create opportunities that will be beneficial to both entities; including Industrial Internship, study visits and training, as well as Industrial Engagement.
Muara Port Company Sdn Bhd is a joint-venture company between the Government of Brunei Darussalam, represented by Darussalam Assets Sdn Bhd and Guangxi Beibu Gulf International Port Group Co, Ltd via Beibu Gulf Holding (HK) Co, Ltd. Muara Port, a flagship project under the framework of the Brunei-Guangxi Economic Corridor, has been committed to strengthening cooperation and promote development.
