As part of the ASEAN Student Mobility Programme, Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) students recently participated in the prestigious ASEAN Future Innovators Challenge held at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). Competing alongside top teams from across the ASEAN region, our talented students showcased their innovative spirit in this dynamic competition.
In the initial round, UBD’s team faced off against participants from their host university before advancing to the final, where they competed against 17 other exceptional teams from leading ASEAN institutions.
Representing UBD, our team took on the challenge under the theme “Empowering ASEAN Youth: Leadership for a Sustainable Future,” focusing on the pressing issue of fashion waste. Their groundbreaking solution, Sew & Share, is an AI-powered initiative designed to minimise fabric waste while simultaneously creating job opportunities. This forward-thinking innovation not only addresses environmental concerns but also supports economic empowerment, paving the way for a more sustainable future.
We are incredibly proud of their achievement and their dedication to shaping a brighter future for the region.
